What distinguishes Multec's high-performance PLA filament?

No prototype without 3D printing filament What sounds like a truism should be well thought out. Because the quality of each prototype is not only determined by the 3D printer, but also by the choice of filament. After all, the respective prototypes have to prove themselves as tools and models in very different situations. Therefore, there is both transparent filament and filament that is water soluble or food safe.

In the following we also explain the properties of Multec PLA HT Filament and the meaning of the various abbreviations.

From PLA filament to Multec PLA HT filament!

From a chemical point of view, polylactides - PLA for short - are synthetic polymers that are produced sustainably and are therefore also called "bioplastics". Due to their properties, including a low melting temperature, they are also suitable for beginners in 3D prototype printing.

PVA (polyvinyl alcohol), on the other hand, is a thermoplastic which, as indicated above, is soluble in water, whereas so-called metal filament allows extremely stable 3D prints. Wood filaments, on the other hand, are used to create products with a particularly natural look.

In short: Both the material properties of a prototype - i.e. its appearance and haptics, but also the required resilience and the environment in which it is used, decide which filament is suitable. Multec PLA HT filament can be used, for example, for the production of particularly high-quality 3D prints, for example in toolmaking.

Customer opinions on the Multec PLA HT filament

The Multec PLA HT filament in particular has a high thermal and dynamic resilience. In addition, our Multec PLA HT filament can be processed perfectly and enables an excellent print image.

Last but not least, printer problems are extremely rare when using Multec PLA HT filament. Multec PLA HT can usually be processed on the same printers and with comparable standard settings as "normal" PLA filament.

Many users therefore see the Multec PLA HT filament as a particularly successful product with a pleasant feel and excellent breakage behavior. Among other things, Multec PLA HT filament is used by customers in equipment construction, but also for printing various spare parts. Especially in application areas with thermal requirements, Multec PLA HT scores with its heat resistance (HT stands for high temperature).

Multec PLA HT: Diverse areas of application

In fact, Multec PLA HT filament can also be used in direct sunlight or near lamps, where "normal" PLA is already out of the question. Because this is quite brittle and can therefore hardly be used at temperatures beyond the 60 degree mark. Multec PLA HT filament, on the other hand, is heat-resistant at temperatures of up to 90° Celsius and is therefore also suitable for components and prototypes that are exposed to higher heat.

Of course Multec PLA HT, Multec also provides other 3D printer filament types for you.

Multec PLA HT: From the printer to the filament

We also have various professional 3D printers as well as filaments and accessories in our shop. The Rapid technologies represent the future and can be used in many different ways. From pre-production models, which are easier to manufacture than ever before, to medical applications. More and more researchers are developing ideas for the use of 3D printing in the medical field, which can produce body parts via additive manufacturing. This is already the case with orthoses, for example. These can be produced both inexpensively and individually.

Further developments will show when the time is right for bone replacement or other anatomical structures from the 3D printer. But there is no question that 3D printing and thanks to filaments such as the Multec PLA HT already provide us with a technology that paves unimagined paths for today's designers.
