Heat-resistant, high-impact and food-safe filament from Multec for almost every application - available in different colors
Without the right material, you cannot produce a high-quality workpiece - this is the same with 3D printing as with other production processes. Not every filament available on the market for the FDM printing process is therefore suitable for creating high-quality prints. PLA-HT (HT for high temperature) Multec offers a filament that also meets the highest demands. The colors black, white and blue are available from stock, special colors can be produced on request from an order quantity of 30 kg.
Heat resistant, food safe and impact resistant
PLA (polylactide) is the material of choice for many FDM users: With no unpleasant odors and much easier to process than ABS, this biologically based plastic is the material for the vast majority of printed objects.
And yet conventional PLA also has some disadvantages.
PLA objects are quite brittle and sensitive to temperatures above 60° Celsius. Applications that are exposed to direct sunlight or in the vicinity of lamps and motors, for example, are therefore often ruled out. This is different with the new PLA-HT from Multec. It is heat-resistant up to 90° Celsius and is therefore also suitable for components in an environment with higher temperatures. It is also characterized by a notched impact strength (the resistance of a material to impact stress) that is ten times higher than that of conventional PLA and in this respect it even clearly surpasses ABS.
Perfect to process
In addition to the higher thermal and dynamic resilience, PLA-HT can be processed perfectly and produces an excellent print image.
PLA-HT can usually be processed with the standard settings on the same printers as normal PLA and does not cause any printing problems such as warping/shrinkage.
Customer reference - Ramp for conveyor vehicle
The ramps are used to position trolleys and were first milled from POM by the customer and then printed with PLA-HT.
The comparison photo shows the extreme wear resistance of Multec PLA-HT in contrast to the milled POM component.
The service life of PLA-HT is remarkable at 4 months in contrast to only 8 hours with POM! The component was printed by the customer on a Multec M800 industrial 3D printer.
